Red Clay

The red clay line

Clay that belongs to
the world of fire.

Red clay carries iron in the body itself. Fired in İznik, it reads as ember and soil rather than as white porcelain — and it puts food in a warm, grounded frame.

A living surface

Colour pools, thins,
and stays alive.

Under a transparent or semi-matte glaze, the clay body pushes gently through the surface. Colour gathers in the recesses and thins over the edges. The result is a plate with depth rather than a plate with a colour — a surface that changes as the light in the room changes.

This is also why two pieces from the same batch are never identical. We do not correct that. It is the reason the material was chosen.

Four groups

We do not replace a service.
We change a few moments in it.

Red clay steak plate in service

Steak & main plates

Stage plates for one or two hero dishes — dry-aged cuts, lamb, whole fish, slow-roasted vegetables. Wide wells, calm rims, enough mass to hold heat to the last bite.

Red clay meze bowls and trio

Meze bowls & trios

Compact bowls and long bases for meze, cold starters and sharing plates. The group that gets photographed most often, because it is the part of the table guests build themselves.

Red clay dessert plate

Dessert plates

Slightly smaller, with a narrow rim and, where it helps, a white band that lets sugar, cream and fruit read clearly against the clay.

Red clay coffee cups

Coffee cups & rituals

Turkish coffee and espresso, designed as a small ceremony. The one piece a guest holds in both hands, and the one they remember with their hands rather than their eyes.

Sample stage

The sample decides,
not the drawing.

Before anything is repeated, a small number of pieces goes into your own service. You stack them, wash them, carry them, drop one eventually. We ask what happened, and we change the form, the finish or the batch accordingly.

We publish no technical figures for this line, because we have not finished measuring it with you. What we can say is what we have seen on real tables.

The film

Red clay, from the bench
to the last cup of the evening.

How a project works

Four steps.

01

Brief

Twenty to thirty minutes. Your space, your menu, the dishes that matter, the way your team actually plates.

02

Concept

One or two scenarios, usually combining one to three of the groups above — for example steak and meze, or dessert and coffee.

03

Prototype

Selected forms are made in a master workshop around İznik. You review the dimensions, the colour and the feel in the hand.

04

Small batch

Only the approved pieces are produced, checked and packed, and they arrive with simple care guidelines for your team.
