STEP 1 – Idea & Design – pencil / sketch icon

You start by telling us what you need: breakfast service for a boutique hotel, a signature plate for your restaurant, a corporate gift, or a small series for your home. We gather the essentials through a short form or conversation – use, quantity, style, colours, and any personalization such as logos or room numbers. Our design team then prepares one to three tailored concepts, combining form, colour palette, and pattern, and refines them with you until everything feels just right.

Step 2 – Raw Body Preparation

Once you approve the concept, production begins exclusively for your order. We commission the right clay bodies and forms from trusted partners in Kütahya and İznik, including a small safety margin for potential firing loss. Each raw piece is checked for size, weight, and surface quality before it enters the artistic stages, so defects are filtered out at the very beginning instead of appearing at the end of the process.

Step 3 – Pattern & Hand‑Painting

The prepared bodies move to our pattern and colour specialists. Using the design sheet we created together – including pattern drawings, colour codes, and placement of logos or text – they hand‑paint each piece. This phase is 100% artisanal. Tiny variations are proof of the human touch, but the overall series is carefully managed so that every plate, cup, or bowl feels like part of the same family.​

Step 4 – Firing & Glazing

After painting, the pieces enter the kilns of our master firers. At carefully controlled temperatures and schedules, the clay reaches its full strength and the colours mature. Depending on the finish you choose – matte, satin, or glossy – we apply the appropriate glaze and fire the pieces again. This stage defines the durability, feel, and final look of your ceramics.

Step 5 – Inspection & Signature

Every fired piece is inspected by hand. We check for cracks, glaze thickness, colour consistency, and the clarity of any logos or lettering against a clear checklist. Slightly imperfect but usable pieces go into our outlet / B‑grade stock; your order is reserved only from items that pass all criteria. Finally, each piece receives the Ceramica Nicea signature and, where helpful, an internal product code for easy re‑ordering.

Step 6 – Packing & Delivery

Approved pieces are packed according to their final destination and use. For hotels and restaurants, we use multi‑layer protective packing to minimise any risk during transport. Before shipping, we send you photos of your complete set so you can have a final look. Your order is then dispatched with your preferred carrier, and after delivery we always check in to make sure everything arrived safely and you are happy with the result.​​
